Rosemary Lord is a writer of epic and dark fantasy living in the heart of Appalachia. She graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a BA in sociology. This was followed by a journey through an unlikely variety of occupations. She’s been a domestic violence victim advocate, motorcycle bum, delivery driver, barista, and socialist activist. Most recently, she spent many years bartending before losing her job after the ravages of Hurricane Helene. Now she has the incredible privilege of writing full-time.

In her novels, she explores themes of identity, feminism, disability, self-determination, and class struggle. Most of all, she strives to write entertaining yarns filled with nuanced magic and even more nuanced characters, like the ones that got her addicted to fantasy as a child. In her speculative short fiction, she often delves into her Appalachian roots, writing odd-ball tales with a hefty dose of horror.

When not reading or scribbling, Rosemary enjoys riding motorcycles, embroidery, collecting gargoyles, playing Dungeons & Dragons with her husband, studying craft beer, and catering to the whims of her ornery cat, Lady Buttermilk.
